You’d think that Rugrats making a return would be good news, right?
Well, for some people it certainly is. But it also looks like the format of the return might be a point of contention for some fans.
The news of a relaunch was published by Variety on Monday, and later confirmed by the official Nickelodeon Twitter account.
It’s that last bit — the movie that’s set for 2020 — that seems to be dividing people.
The reason? It’s live-action. Or more specifically “a live-action film featuring CGI characters”, according to Variety. That means a mish-mash of human actors and computer animated characters.
From the looks of the responses, Rugrats fans aren’t too sure about this.
I love the Rugrats with every fiber of my being and am looking forward to a cartoon revival. Not really digging a live action movie though

We’ll have to wait and see how that one turns out. In the meantime, there are still 26 new episodes of the show currently in production to look forward to.
